APPLICATION & VISA

Once you have decided an institution and course to study in Canada, you need to apply for admission. We have certified and experienced counselors who can help you choose the right course, level and institution based on your academic, financial and professional history.

APPLICATION DEADLINES:

The Canadian Institutions typically start in August or September i.e. on the fall while some institutions have provisions for January intake as well. To be on the safe side for timely admission and visa, it is always better to apply and arrange for admission at least 4 to 5 months before the commencement date of your course. Each institution has its own deadline and so students must check the particular course and institution’s deadlines carefully.

APPLYING FOR ADMISSION

To apply for admission, you need to bring the following supporting documents:

  • Previous and current academic certificates/ transcripts, character and provisional certificates.
  • Evidence of your English language proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE).
  • A valid Passport
  • Work experience reference letter issued by employer (if a candidate has some working experience)
  • 2 to 3 letters of recommendation from the officials of previously attended academic institution (depending on the requirement of the said institution)

OBTAINING UNCONDITIONAL LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE:

The complete institution’s application form and supporting documents should be sent to the International Admission Office of the Canadian institution you are applying. This has to be sent to a university approved by Canadian government to issue an acceptance letter for you. Once you have met the admissions conditions, the institution will send an unconditional letter of acceptance for studies.

PROOF OF FINANCIAL ABILITY:

You must also provide evidence of funding to pay for both your course tuition fees and your monthly living costs. You normally need to provide a proof of access of $10000 in addition to your tuition fee if you are applying outside of Quebec and $11000 in addition to tuition fees if applying inside Quebec.

You can prove your funds with:

  • proof of a Canadian bank account in your name, if you have transferred money to Canada
  • Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) from a participating Canadian financial institution
  • proof of a student/education loan from a bank
  • your bank statements for the past four months
  • a bank draft that can be converted to Canadian dollars
  • proof you paid tuition and housing fees
  • a letter from the person or school giving you money or
  • proof of funding paid from within Canada, if you have a scholarship or are in a Canadian-funded educational program.

APPLYING FOR VISA:

You will need following documents to start your online application or paper application for a student permit to Canada.

  • Unconditional letter of acceptance from the institution and any original documents referenced by your institution on that letter.
  • Proof of financial abilities.
  • Proof of relationship to your parents if the above funds are held under a parent’s name. (You can also submit one of the following original documents: birth certificate or adoption certificate and a letter from your parent(s) or legal guardian(s) providing consent for you to use the money)
  • Police certificate (character clearance)
  • Health examination report (Medical report) if applicable.
